The Groupage Export Facilitation Scheme (GEFS) has been extended to 31 December 2025 to continue exports to the EU and movements to Northern Ireland of low-risk products.
GEFS facilitates exports from Food Business Operators with steady supply chains by using 30-day Support Attestations to help in the certification process. The Scheme was previously set to end on 31 December 2023 but DEFRA have now announced a two year extension to 31 December 2025.
During the two year extension focus will be on improving the scheme, its guidelines, and associated guidance. They will be conducting wide-ranging consultations and will reach out to members and industry accordingly.
If you are a current GEFS member or a supplier manufacturing products under GEFS please continue to follow the available guidance on product requirements, Support Attestations and required documentation. They will communicate directly with members whenever there are significant changes to guidance,
