The Investment Fund for Northern Ireland has Launched

The British Business Bank have announced that the £70m Investment Fund or NI is now live.

This new investment fund is designed to support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses across NI and in particular to increase the supply and diversity of early-stage finance for new and growing small businesses.

As part of a bigger £1.6 billion investment committed to UK businesses, this new funding is part of a wider goal to drive sustainable economic growth in Northern Ireland.

The Investment Fund for Northern Ireland offers two different commercial finance options of loans ranging from £25,000 to £2 million and equity investments up to £5 million. The fund covers the whole of Northern Ireland, including rural, coastal and urban areas.

It is increasing the supply and diversity of early-stage finance for smaller businesses across Northern Ireland, providing funds to businesses that might otherwise not receive investment and helping to break down barriers in access to finance.

The new fund has embedded ESG awareness into its design and will help support the UK economy’s transition to net zero.

Upcoming Events

Following today's launch, the British Business Bank will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday 12 December 2023 from 11:00 - 12:00. This webinar is aimed at smaller businesses in Northern Ireland looking for finance as well as business advisors, accountants, bankers, lawyers and the wider small business support ecosystem

It will help attendees to understand the different funding options available and will be an opportunity to ask our appointed fund managers any questions in the closing Q&A session.

A series of roadshow events will also be held in February 2024 in Newry, Omagh, Derry Londonderry and Ballymena. These will provide an opportunity to meet our fund managers in person and to find out more about the fund and how to apply.
